Was going to be a hot day so an early start was called for. A pleasant drive into Namadgi along Boboyan Road with the last few kilometres along a good dirt road with an amazing number of roos watching ones progress....closely.

The area is slowly being returned to its original condition with all traces of the pine plantations being removed.  Some controversy in relation to the wild dogs and dingoes that can be found in the area.  There was a disturbing article some weeks ago with a solo camper being attacked at night by a pack and had to defend himself with his telescope.  Still, I always walk with my trekking poles and keep my eyes open.  On this trip, I had my own Black-Belt martial artist personal trainer to make sure I was safe.

Tis a lovely 10k round trip with a bit of everything, forests, swamps, creeks and eagles.  There is a very accessible aboriginal rock art site on the journey.  All walking is either on fire trails or well marked foot trails.  And despite my companions best endeavours, there is no need to swim the creek to get to the  cache!
