Weekend 25& 26 - Murrumbidgee Meander and Majura Stroll

26/6/2011

Saturday was some unfinished business along the Murrumbidgee near Lanyon.  Drove over the new Tharwa Bridge , parked and followed the good trail on the Western side of the river.  Lots of monstrous wombat holes and evidence of the river having been in flood.  Made my way basically to across the River from Lanyon, Thomas you are a naughty boy ! Some other unfinished business was attended to on Issaacs Ridge.  This just required a bit of lying in roo poo, prickle bushes on the edge of a little plummet to ones death type place - in other words, just a normal everyday  caching adventure.
Sunday saw me exploring the slopes of Mt Majura - there are some nice trails apparently, most of my route wasn't on any., which come to think of it, was a bit of a bugger as I approached the Majura Glenn from the glenn itself and it wasn't until I was 38 metres away, I spied the path and little bridge.  Ahhhh, what is it, that doesn't kill us ? Or, I am making this up as I go.  Sunday's stroll was 8k, nice and sunny but the wind had a bit of a bite at altitude!
