Square Rock

A glorious Spring Day.  An early departure form the carpark near Corin Forest.  One other car there with one inhabitant so it looked like there were more on the way.  That affected my itinerary - straight to Square Rock for caching duties before muggles turn up.  Was a beaut walk and I had my first encounter with wild pigs.  They were only smallish and made a run for it when they detected my presence - not that I was going to a Bear Grylls on them and try to eat them !  The undergrowth was fairly wet and as the trail was fairly narrow, I got reasonably wet.

Once at Square Rock, the views are fairly magnificent.  I did my cache searching first and then did the photography bits.  Good plan Stan as the muggle brigade turned up shortly after.  Headed back to the Orroral Valley overview.  Again, fantastic views and by gum, there's a cache hidden there as well!

On the walk back  to car, passed many walkers heading the other way.  Some commented on my use of gaiters.  I didn't have the hear tto tell them of my previous experience, roughly a year ago when I almost stepped on a Copperhead snake in Tidbinbilla!  Many walkers were with small children and I couldn't help but think that many of those would need to be carried back if they were doing the full walk (I think about 10k).

On arrival at my car, I decided to head down to Corin Dam.  Glad that I did, for the first time in ages, the Corin Dam spillway was in action which meant that the dam was at full capacity.  As an act of celebration, I hid a cache near the lookout.
