The ranger was nearby and said the road was being repaired from the recent storms. Oh, bother! No probs, the Mrs was keen for a hike so up we went. Looks like the road has been fixed so why don't they open it ?
The forest is looking spectacular and lush and the birds were singing. A great walk, despite the steep bits. So the 200m walk that was planned was actually a 10K return walk and then it was time to decipher spoiler photos. Well, if I had been there by myself, I would have piked. Got a bit confused by the photos and their perspective. Some pseudo caving was required. Eventually, we wiggled down the correct hole, yes, her as well with her ex broken patella and then the photos made sense. Still took a bit of time but all good in the end. A nicer stroll down the hill. She mentioned that there were smoked salmon rolls and coffee waiting for us at the car. And then the drive back to reality. What a great little adventure. Pity I couldn't take the camera through the squeezy bits!
