Cache of the Week - Sun Sept 8

8/9/2013

There were lots to choose from this week, after going for a drive on the dirt roads to the west of the Cotter.  There were lots of weeeee moments (not that sort of wee) as the X5 went down the "mineshaft" and then back up again.  I will go back again soon to get the missing caches and get some video footage of the ascent and descent.  However, my cache of the week is one that pre-dates the new series.  Cache of the Week is 2 Leg Drive's "Black Hill Collimation Tower" (GC1JNEP).  An interesting bit of infrastructure that I had always thought I would have to hike up a very steep hill.  With Wing6Rider in the navigator's seat, a gnarly dirt access road was found that the X5 breezed up.  Well worth the visit and 2 wheel drives with no clearance will be able to get within  a few hundred metres.

Nice pick as we loved it too - after sending Zsazsa7 up the steep bit on foot.... :-)

Cool. What an honor! Glad you enjoyed my cache on a hill.
It has been a bit unloved for a few years but with the recent addition of the rally series its had a few more visits.
I hope this will encourage a few more.
Thanks Kim.
