The Wedge tailed Eagle has been spotted two mornings in a row on Mt Mugga Mugga, that is the hill directly behind the old Quamby juvenile detention centre and borders onto the busy Hindmarsh drive. Such a majestic bird. It gets a bit of hell from magpies and currawongs but check out those talons!
Of late, whilst not getting too far bush, I have discovered some amazing birds on the urban fringe. Well, the Tawny Frogmouth was along a bike path in Curtin, the centre of the city so that is not even the urban fringe. I have been back 4 times and he/she is always in the same area. I need to revist because according to my research, there are probably 2 of them roosting there during the day.
