Big weekend - Lanyon, back of Theodore, Fadden and the big 1,000

Ok, a big weekend that I will combine into the one entry.  Started for me with wrapping up a couple of unfinished ones around Russell on the Saturday, then off to Lanyon with Chris and Richard to knock of some TE puzzles and multis!  The puzzles weren't doing too well as per the multis but it was nice to walk around Lanyon.  Wish I got a snap of the kitchen staff's faces when I popped into the cafe to ask where were the convict quarters.were.  They really must have wondered about the strange folk who criss-crossed the site a gazillion times.  We were ready to revoke Chris's cachers license  as we stumbled around the forest looking for yet another "solved" puzzle when I stumbled across a strange bit of tupperware miles from anywhere..
Still, it was an enjoyable stroll with good company and there was more on the menu.  We were soon puffing and panting and climbing a very steep hill behind Theodore.  Only one of us was really capable of carrying a conversation!  All good in the end and we were grateful for the weather holding off though the clouds above the mountains looked very threatening and an icy wind was blowing.
Day 2 started with an early jaunt down to the lake in icy conditions and a few caches were duly knocked off.  It left me on 999 so I pondered the map over my lunch and contemplated a worthy cache for my significant milestone.  A "Taste of Namadgi" sounded good, without the mega drive associated as it was in the foot hills of Fadden.   A really pleasurable walk on a steepish slope with great views (and that cold wind) with a few interpretation issues but "Phone a Friend" was exercised and all was good.
Thanks to those who have provided the incentive  to get me out searching in the bush and a special thanks to those that have accompanied me on those missions!

Great pictures Kim!

And that's the only way that Chris will ever be taller than me. :-)
