I got back to the gate and saw an English couple who mentioned that saw another koala a few metres down the path. He wasn't overly photogenic but I then heard strange noises coming from some trees ahead. Yowser, another Mum and Bub with a bit of distance between the 2. What a great morning, so glad i made the effort.
Ten koalas have been released into the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, quite a few bubs included. Time for an early morning visit but also a quick stop at the Sanctuary for a platypus fix (oh ok, also a cache). Platypus did laps, flashed his/her bottom at me so all was good with the world. Off to Koala enclosures, Rangers were just leaving and wished me luck with my spotting. At the moment, Mum & Bub are in the front inner enclosure and were very photogenic. I went for a stroll on the Peppermint Trail and I did just happen to have a spare cache on me that I strangely no longer have in my possession.
