Two days later, I visited the Molonglo and Murrumbidgee Rivers near the Lower Molonglo Water Treatment Works down Uriarra way. Don't let that last bit put you off, the rivers are very beautiful and there are no aromas (well, today anyway). This walk was very good for my soul, the views were marvelous, the sounds magic and the caches were very interesting. The wrestling to get to the top of a blackberry surrounded boulder where one slip would lead me to be severely punctured did mean a little bit of cussing was allowed! An old gold and other bits mine was a surprising find but the best was an old unused open air chapel that was built in 1982.
But if the truth be told, it was two rivers but one was in 2 different places. Confused ? Good ! Visited the Murrumbidgee down near Tharwa in the Gingerline Nature Reserve. A series of vampire themed caches so I took along my garlic breath and a wooden stake, just in case. Twas a slightly foggy, misty morning and a lovely walk along the river bank.
